Woodson Ice Hockey Club was formed by a group of parents who wanted their children to be able to play ice hockey for their school in 2002.  Teresa Mayberry was the founding President of our club and has had three sons develop their skills under the tutelage of our terrific coaches.

The Woodson Ice Hockey Club's mission is to promote the best interests of and enhance the opportunities of students at Woodson High School in Fairfax,Virginia by offering the chance for students to play ice hockey.  WIHC is entering its sixth season. WIHC is a member of the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League (NVSHL).

In the 2005 - 2006 season, WIHC made their first playoff appearance in the team's history after posting a 4-5-1 regular season record.   Two years ago, in the 2006 - 2007 season, WIHC made the playoffs again after posting a winning regular season record.  Last year, in the 2008 -2009 season WIHC made it to the quarter-finals for the first time in our club's history.

Other historical highlights include a 2004 Purple Puck Tier II championship.
